Our Commitment to Children's Privacy: Daily Bread Stories is designed for children ages 3-11. We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and take children's privacy very seriously.

We collect minimal information necessary to provide our service:
- Child Profiles: First name and avatar selection (chosen by parents). No photos, birthdates, or identifying information is collected from children.
- Parent Information: Optional recovery email address for account restoration on new devices.
- Usage Data: Story completion progress, reading streaks, and stars earned (stored anonymously).
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information solely to:
- Provide personalized story experiences for each child profile
- Track reading progress and award achievements
- Enable account recovery if you switch devices
- Process subscription payments through our payment provider
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties except:
- Payment Processing: Stripe processes payments securely. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect safety.
4. Parental Controls
Parents maintain full control over their family's account:
- Settings are protected by a parent PIN
- Parents can add, edit, or remove child profiles at any time
- Parents can cancel subscriptions and delete the family account
- Parents can request all data associated with their account
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect information:
- Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
- Secure database storage with access controls
- No collection of unnecessary personal information
6. Data Retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of all your data at any time by contacting us. Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Daily Bread Stories complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act:
- We do not collect personal information directly from children under 13
- All child profile information is entered by parents/guardians
- Children cannot make purchases or enter personal information
